Hummul-Krusum Tahiru, the esteemed Gender Desk Manager at A1 Radio in Bolgatanga, has been honored with the title of Female Journalist of the Year at the prestigious 4th Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Upper East Awards. This remarkable achievement marks the second occasion on which Tahiru has been bestowed this significant accolade, further cementing her status as a prominent figure in the landscape of regional journalism.

During the vibrant ceremony held on October 10, 2025, at the elegant BlueSky Hotel located in Kumbosigo, Bolgatanga, the 4th GJA Upper East Awards celebrated outstanding journalistic excellence within the Upper East Region. Tahiru’s impressive double victory included not only the coveted Female Journalist of the Year award but also the Best Gender Reporter of the Year title—a testament to her unwavering commitment to gender-focused reporting and her advocacy for women's stories.
