The Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, has already failed, according to Mr. Johnson Ayine, the former Upper East Regional Communications Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

During an interview on Bluewaves Radio 93.7's Breakfast Show with Mr. Maurice Duncan, Mr. Johnson Ayine urged the Attorney General and Minister for Justice, who is also the Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga East Constituency, to be more circumspect in his duties. He advised the Attorney General and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to prioritize investigations into their own members if they genuinely want to serve the interests of Ghana.

Mr. Ayine referenced the case of the former Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Madam Sedinam Tamakloe Attionu, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison for causing a financial loss of GHC 90 million to the state. He expressed concern that Dr. Dominic Ayine has discontinued some important state cases without providing a clear explanation.

These comments were made in response to a press conference held by Dr. Dominic Ayine on Friday, June 13, 2025. In that conference, the Attorney General stated that over GHC 548 million had been lost during the National Service Scheme's "Ghost Names" scandal. He further revealed that Madam Gifty Owar-Memsah orchestrated a meticulous plan using National Service allowances as security to obtain a loan of GHC 30,698,218 from the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB).
